BIOGRAPHY
 

Kathleen Dyer began formal music studies at CSULB while performing in the American Youth Symphony, Los Angeles Debut Orchestra and the LA Philharmonic Institute. Specializing in piccolo, she was selected to perform in first US National piccolo master class for the NFA in St Louis, and won 3rd prize in the 1994 Piccolo Artist Competition in Boston.

She has performed extensively with Opera Pacific, the Asia America Symphony and the Long Beach Ballet Orchestra. In 2012 after two-years fully funded instruction with LA Phil piccoloist Sarah Jackson, she was awarded the West Coast’s first Master of Music in any auxiliary orchestral instrument for Piccolo from Azusa Pacific University. She is is a contributing author for Flute Talk’s “Let’s Talk Picc” and author of the piccolo tutorial “One Octave Higher.”
