Bio

Hon. Damon L. Alexander is a Pasadena native and former United States Marine. A proud public servant for most of his life, on January 31, 1988, he was sworn in as a Special Agent with the United States Immigration & Naturalization Service.  In 1992, he transferred to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives where he served for the next 25 years, and retired in 2016 with 29 years of total service.

Mr. Alexander is the founding President of 100 Black Men of America (Inland Empire Chapter), Past Commander of the 25th District of California of the American Legion (San Bernardino County), Past Chair of the City of San Bernardino Police Commission, Past Chair of the City of San Bernardino Cannabis Committee, and Immediate Past President of the North End Neighborhood Association in San Bernardino. In addition to his work with the Symphony, he sits on the Board for the Richard T. Fields Bar Association Foundation.

 

On November 03, 2020, by receiving more than 65% percent of the votes from the 7th Ward residents, Mr. Alexander was elected as a San Bernardino City Council Member.

 

In 2014, he received the First Responders Award from the “One Caring Adult” foundation, in 2016 he received the Black Rose Award for Community Service, and in 2018, The Broken Soldier’s Foundation presented him with Veteran of the Year honors.

 

Mr. Alexander graduated from the University of La Verne with a B.S. in Political Science. He furthered his education at Sacramento Theology Seminary & Bible College obtaining a Master's degree in Theology. He earned a second graduate degree from National University in Public Administration. Mr. Alexander is also a graduate of the prestigious Leadership Institute at Harvard University. He is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
