BIOGRAPHY
Brad Close is an active freelance musician in the Los Angeles area. In addition to holding the principal trombone position in the San Bernardino Symphony for 20 years, he is a member of the New West Symphony, the Santa Barbara Symphony, and the Desert Symphony. He has performed with many area orchestras including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, and the Long Beach Symphony. He also does recordings for film, television, and video games.
Brad received a Bachelor's degree from Indiana University, Bloomington, and a Master's degree from the University of Southern California, both in trombone performance. He performs on tenor, alto, and bass trombone, euphonium, and sackbut. In addition to his busy performance schedule, he runs a brass instrument shop where he performs repairs, does custom modifications, and builds instruments of original design, as well as maintaining a collection of vintage and/or unique instruments.
